1940's Sheer Flocked Silk Gown
Fabulous 1940's sheer silk gown with dramatic puffed sleeves and millinery flowers at the shoulders. The fabric is a super fine pale cellophane blue silk with a flocked fan pattern all over. A two-tone ribbon waist tie cinches the dress at the waist for the perfect fit and allowing flexibility in sizing. Side zipper closure creates ease in getting the piece on and off. Godets at the base of the dress create extra volume and sweep. I imagine this dress was handmade for costume or someone's special event, whether it was a debutant ball or some kind of dance. It's incredibly unique.
