This piece is an incredible work of art with countless hours of hand beading and sewing. The main body of the dress is covered in beads that alternate in direction creating a geometric effect when the light hits the beads. The bands of beaded sections are split by sections of crossing strips of silk. Beads cover the front of the gown, but in the back the beading stops at the waist where the chiffon splits into pieces, creating dramatic movement. It is lined in a heavier silk. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eCondition: This piece was from a museum deaccession so it has been beautifully cared for. The fabric is still healthy with no dry or weak spots. The only major callout is an area of moderate bead loss in the back on the lefthand side.
