1930's Fischer Satin + Lace Gown
1930's bias-cut rayon satin gown with lace appliqué, restored by Reject Archive. This Fischer gown is a stunning example of 1930's glamour and what can be done to restore these pieces. We sourced 1930's Alençon ecru corded lace to appliqué over any damage. When this piece came to us it had heart-shaped patches covering some small holes. The heart patches were cute but we wanted the gown to present true to its era. We try to leave things better than we found them and hopefully you think so. We cut patched of the corded lace to create a balanced motif in the front, covering holes and bright pink stains. The same was done in the back, the lace appliqué is shaped almost like angel wings and they follow the natural curves of the back beautifully. The backing fabric was cut out which pairs nicely with the entirely lace, ruffled bust. This piece also features lace straps and lace trim at the hemline. The skirt splits up the sides, and there are more lace appliqué patches where there were more heart patches before. There are no signs of damage now, this piece presents beautifully. We hope you love the work we put into this piece!
